nice_mob_variants:livestock_breeder
¶ Description
A hay-filled feeding trough that takes the work out of animal husbandry. Every few minutes it puts the farm animals around it into love mode, so they breed on their own without having to be fed by hand.
¶ Usage
Place the Livestock Breeder like any other block. Roughly every 10 minutes, as long as a player is within 64 blocks, it activates:
- Up to 16 randomly chosen Chickens, Cows, Pigs, Rabbits and Sheep within 12 blocks that are not already in love mode are put into love mode.
- Affected animals show happy villager particles, and the breeder itself plays a rustling sound and releases a burst of particles.
- Animals in love mode then find a partner and breed exactly as if they had been fed.
This works for all mob variants of these animals, so a Livestock Breeder is an easy way to multiply rare variants you have penned in.
The breeder's timer keeps counting while no player is nearby; once the 10 minutes have passed, it activates as soon as a player comes within 64 blocks.
¶ Breaking
The Livestock Breeder can be broken with any tool or by hand, though a pickaxe is fastest. It always drops itself.
¶ Crafting
The recipe is unlocked as soon as you have a Barrel in your inventory. Crafting it grants the advancement Ranch Hand, and crafting both the Livestock Breeder and the Frog Feeder grants Homestead.
