¶ Description
Lets you block with a Sword, Spear, Axe or Mace like with a shield. Hold right-click to raise the weapon; after 1 second it blocks incoming melee attacks. It cannot block projectiles or attacks that bypass shields, and blocking costs the weapon durability. Axes can disable the block just like they disable shields.
¶ Obtaining
- Can be applied with an Enchanting Table.
- Can appear on the equipment of mobs that spawn with enchanted gear.
- Can appear on randomly enchanted loot in chests, from fishing and similar sources.
- Can appear on enchanted equipment sold by Villagers.
- Can be bought as an enchanted book from Librarian Villagers.
- Can also be offered by Novice Plains Librarians as an extra enchanted book trade.
- Can be found in the chest at the top of the Rise structure.
In an Enchanting Table it only appears on Swords and Spears. It can be applied to the other supported items with an anvil.

¶ Anvil
This enchantment has an anvil cost multiplier of 4. When combining it from an enchanted book, the cost is halved.
